A skilled professional with over 14-years of seasoned experience within the addiction treatment and recovery space.

Holding accreditation as both a Canadian Certified Addiction Counselor and a Canadian Certified Recovery Coach, Lisa's expertise extends between supporting those grappling with addiction, complex mental health issues and personality disorders.

She works within both the abstinence-based and harm reduction recovery circles, making her a sought-after figure among the "sober curious." With an impressive background at Fresh Start Recovery Center spanning more than a decade, Lisa has excelled in various roles encompassing client support, communications, advocacy, and business development.

Notably, Lisa is a driving force behind the Canadian recovery landscape. She is one of the Co-Founders of Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) Canada, a pivotal initiative that fosters recovery community networks, diminishes stigma, amplifies awareness, and brings individuals together to connect in their journeys of recovery.

Lisa's educational journey includes a certification as a Canadian Addiction Counsellor (CCAC), followed by training at Recovery Coach University. Her 60-hour training encompassed Ethical Considerations, Medically Assisted Treatment (M.A.T), and Motivational Interviewing. Intervention Training in 2018 ,by acclaimed interventionists Earl Hightower and Patti Pike, Lisa masterfully employs a holistic approach, tending to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual facets of her clients' lives and recovery journeys. She seamlessly integrates family wellness and boundary-setting skills when needed.

Drawing from a rich toolbox, Lisa adroitly employs motivational interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), diverse yoga modalities (Hatha, Yin, Trauma-Sensitive), meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – all infused with her hallmark qualities of compassion, empathy, honesty, and boundless enthusiasm.

Lisa's commitment to growth is evident through her Yoga Teaching Training and Yoga of 12 Step Recovery Facilitator Training in 2015, which led to the establishment of a renowned donation-based Yoga for Recovery class at her Niagara Falls, Ontario yoga studio. Further enriching her expertise, she completed the Brain Building course through the Alberta Family and Wellness Initiative and integrated trauma-informed practices from the Centre for Trauma and Embodiment.

Lisa, a beacon of long-term recovery, has over 15-years of continuous sobriety under her belt. Having walked the path herself, she possesses a treasure trove of practical skills and insights she seamlessly imparts to her clients.
